Finance Officer

We are seeking a dedicated Finance Officer to join our construction company based in Gillingham. This is a temporary role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The role offers a chance to be part of a thriving team within the construction industry, with a salary of up to £26,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Managing and processing invoices, payments, and financial statements.
* Assisting with budget preparation and budget monitoring.
* Handling payroll functions and ensuring accurate financial record keeping.
* Reconciling bank statements and resolving discrepancies.
* Preparing VAT returns and maintaining accurate financial records.
* Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.
* Providing financial support and advice to the management team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience in a finance role, preferably within the construction sector.
* Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles.
* Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
* AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
