Senior HV Authorised Person – Renewable Energy – Gloucestershire
Eden Scott are pleased to be supporting their Consultancy client with the appointment of a Senior HV Authorised Person / Electrical Operations Engineer. This newly created role is a result of further expansion and contract wins.
The Site Management Team sits within the wider Operations & Asset Management team. This multi-disciplinary team will help clients get the most from their assets and keep them safe, reliable, and compliant.
The team of home-based area managers, site managers, and electrical operations engineers works closely with the asset managers, clients, service providers, and project stakeholders, primarily delivering field services to effectively manage operational safety, inspections, electrical network operations, maintenance, and emergency response activities.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
• Operation and maintenance of HV/LV electrical apparatus, including Transmission Systems up to 400kV.
• Achieve and maintain appointments under the relevant Safety Rules for the location(s) within area of operations, including Senior Authorised Person (SAP), and application of the relevant Safe Systems of Work, including WTSR and Approved HV Safety Rules as applicable, and participation in an on-call rota as a Standby Engineer, providing 24-hour support for designated sites and first response to alarms and events.
• Liaison with DNO/TL/NGET regarding operation of HV networks, site outages/events and works close to system boundaries.
• Participate in electrical incident investigations.
• Develop inspection and maintenance procedures that ensure compliance with relevant standards and good industry practice and in consultation with area managers and other stakeholders, support the inspection and maintenance activities in accordance with maintenance plans to ensure compliance with the relevant maintenance policy, and maintain maintenance records for all projects at which services are being delivered.
• Participate in the Engineering Risk Review/Asset Register process, including support for the development and maintenance of Project Risk Registers, identifying suitable strategic spares lists and contingency plans for each project (consulting with area managers and other stakeholders as appropriate).
• Participate in the management of change process as applicable to electrical systems by providing specialist assessment and recommendations as required.
Requirements:
* Educated to HNC level in an engineering or technical discipline
* High Voltage Operations and Maintenance i.e. Installation, Testing and Commissioning Practice/Standards.
* High Voltage apparatus experience: Switchgear - Transformers - Cable Systems - Protection - Control Systems - Compensation Equipment - Earthing Systems - O/H Lines
* Drivers Licence Holder
* Willingness to travel
Additional Information:
* Salary of up to £50,000
* Pension of 8%
* Company vehicle (can be used for personal use)
* Overtime Payments and Shift Allowances
* 40 Hour working week (0800 – 1700)
* 1 week in 4 on call
* Occasional overnight stays
* Team of 15 people
