Role Overview
This role is part of the IT Operations team within the wider Digital Service. The main purpose is to deliver a high‑quality, professional service in issuing, maintaining and upgrading the GHC IT Equipment Estate, working across all sites to ensure timely delivery, setup and support of IT devices.
Key Responsibilities
* Image and configure laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.
* Manage inventory of new and existing equipment, maintaining an accurate asset management system and completing regular audits.
* Install hardware, software applications and security updates, supporting the full lifecycle of IT equipment from deployment to decommissioning.
* Act as a point of contact for equipment replacement across GHC staffed sites, ensuring that devices meet GHC IT policy requirements.
* Provide planned and ad‑hoc reports on equipment status and stock levels across the organisation.
* Comply with IT policies, information governance procedures and staff training requirements.
* Receive IT incidents and requests via phone, face‑to‑face, email and the Digital Services portal, utilising knowledge and judgement to resolve or assign calls appropriately.
* Escalate unresolved problems to the most appropriate team, liaise with third‑party specialists and suppliers to achieve a resolution within agreed Service Operating Level Agreements.
Qualifications & Skills
* Proven experience in endpoint device deployment, configuration and inventory management.
* Strong technical knowledge of hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and mobile devices (iOS, Android).
* Familiarity with IT asset management systems and reporting tools.
* Excellent problem‑solving, communication and customer service skills.
* Ability to work independently and within a team, handling on‑call coverage as required.
