A leading manufacturing business in the Chester area are looking for a Logistics Specialist to join their team for an initial 6 month period with the potential for further extension or to go permanent. As Logistics Specialist you will manage and optimise the import and export operations. This is a key role within our supply chain team, ensuring smooth international movement of goods, compliance with trade regulations, and timely delivery to customers and partners. Key Responsibilities Coordinate international shipments, including customs documentation and freight forwarding. Ensure compliance with import/export laws, tariffs, and trade agreements. Liaise with suppliers, carriers, and customs brokers to resolve issues and delays. Monitor and track shipments, maintaining accurate records and reports. Support inventory planning and warehouse coordination for inbound and outbound logistics. Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in global logistics. Stay up to date with changes in international trade regulations and logistics trends. Requirements Proven experience in logistics, supply chain, or import/export operations. Strong knowledge of international shipping, Incoterms, and customs procedures. Experience moving dangerous goods would be an advantage. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office tools. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Available for an imminent start.
