SF Recruitment are working in partnership with a leading manufacturing business based in Derby to recruit a Senior Category Buyer on a temporary contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly reputable and well-established company, providing critical procurement support to a fast-paced, commercially driven team.
This hybrid role offers flexibility with up to 2 days working from home and the chance to make a real impact in a dynamic procurement function.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement category strategies aligned with overall business objectives
* Lead the end-to-end procurement lifecycle across multiple categories
* Manage supplier relationships and performance, tracking key KPIs and driving improvements
* Negotiate competitive terms, ensuring cost efficiency and value for money
* Support wider business initiatives including budgeting, forecasting, and cross-functional projects
What We re Looking For:
* Proven experience in a Senior Buyer / Category Manager role, ideally within manufacturing or engineering
* Strong commercial acumen and confident negotiating skills
* Proficiency in ERP systems
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment
Requirements:
* You must be immediately available or due to finish an existing contract
* Able to commit to a hybrid working arrangement with a Derby-based office
