Sales Director – Utilities

Lead growth. Shape strategy. Own the Utilities sector. Neos Networks is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Sales Director – Utilities to lead and grow our Utilities vertical. This is a high‑impact leadership role with full accountability for revenue, strategy, and team performance across a critical sector of our business. Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Define and execute a sector‑wide go‑to‑market strategy, identify new revenue streams across transmission, distribution, and renewables, and align sector plans to broader business growth objectives.
- Strategic Account Ownership: Build and maintain C‑level relationships, drive account growth, retention, and long‑term positioning, lead proactive account planning and maximise wallet share.
- New Business Growth: Develop and deliver new logo acquisition strategy, build and maintain a strong, qualified pipeline, and establish market presence through industry engagement.
- Commercial & Financial Ownership: Own revenue targets, growth, and margin performance, lead complex deal structuring and negotiations, and ensure accurate forecasting and pipeline governance.
- Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop Account Directors and Executives; set clear KPIs and drive high performance; build a strong talent pipeline and succession plan.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Pre‑Sales, Product, Delivery, and Marketing; shape compelling customer propositions and solutions; ensure smooth transition from sales to delivery.
What We’re Looking For – Essential
- Proven leadership experience in Utilities, Telecoms, or Infrastructure sales.
- Track record of managing major strategic accounts (e.g. SSE‑level).
- Strong new business and revenue growth delivery.
- Experience leading and developing high‑performing sales teams.
- Exceptional commercial acumen and deal negotiation skills.
Desirable
- Deep knowledge of the UK Utilities sector and regulatory landscape.
- Experience across Transmission, Distribution, Renewables, or Energy networks.
- Understanding of network/telecom solutions (fibre, ethernet, managed services).
