The Opportunity:
We are looking for a dedicated and resilient Learning Support Assistant to join a secondary school in Portsmouth, with a focus on behaviour support. This is a full-time role, ideal for someone who is passionate about helping students overcome barriers to learning and thrive in a structured and supportive environment.
You will work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support students in managing their behaviour, developing emotional resilience, and staying engaged in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide in-class and out-of-class support for students who may display challenging behaviour.
* Assist in developing and delivering strategies to promote positive behaviour and engagement.
* Work with individual students or small groups to encourage focus, confidence, and participation.
* Help implement and review behaviour management plans alongside school staff.
* Build positive relationships with students to support emotional and social development.
* Maintain accurate records of behaviour incidents and progress.

Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working with young people in a school or youth setting is highly desirable.
* Calm, patient, and confident approach to managing challenging situations.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust and rapport with students.
* Comfortable working collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
* Keen to support the personal and academic development of students.
* Relevant qualifications in education or youth work are beneficial but not essential.
