Here at NCHA we have a fantastic opportunity for the right person to join our friendly and supportive Young Person’s Service in Retford. This busy and dynamic service based in Retford provides support to encourage our young people to be the best version of themselves. Our Retford project offers a strengths based support service which aims to build the skills, confidence and independence of the young people who come through our doors. Our team play a critical role in advocating for our tenants, from liaising with agencies to help them access permanent accommodation to supporting them to access education or employment training.
Responsibilities
* Support and mentor young people to promote independence and achieve a positive home environment in line with local authority care plans.
* Communicate effectively with young people to understand needs; strong written and verbal English is essential.
* Engage with agencies to help young people access education, training, and housing opportunities.
* Work on a rota with flexible shifts to cover 7 days a week, including 07:00 – 14:30 and 14:30 – 22:00 where applicable.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Ability to listen and communicate with young people; good understanding of written and verbal English is a must.
* Permanent role, 37 hours per week.
* Driving licence and access to a vehicle would be highly desirable due to location.
