Legal Counsel
12 – 18 month fixed term contract
Based in Burton Upon Trent
What you will be doing
This role would be focused on providing legal support primarily for supply chain and logistics, supporting the business on contractual matters by negotiating, drafting, and advising on commercial contracts, taking a solution oriented and pragmatic approach to commercial and operational risks.
There would be an expectation to provide general legal advice on several broader areas to support the business on a day-today basis, including intellectual property, compliance, data protection, risk management, external counsel management, policy drafting and implementation.
As part of a small legal team, there will be potential for exposure to a wide range of activities, both strategic and operational, across all parts of the business. The candidate would be expected to be agile and adaptable, with an ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of teams across the business.
What we need from you
* Qualification as a Solicitor in England and Wales
* Candidates with 3+ years PQE would likely have the relevant skills and experience for this role, but we would be happy to consider applications from candidates outside of this PQE range who have the relevant experience.
* A strong commercial law background and a good understanding of issues relating to protection of confidentiality, intellectual property, and data privacy
* Experience of IT contracts would be beneficial
* In-house experience would be preferable
* Good IT skills

* Solid drafting and negotiating skills
* Depending on the location and level of experience of the candidate, a hybrid working model would be considered
