The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Higher Clerical Officer to join our growing Pharmacy Homecare Medicines Team. You will be based in the pharmacy homecare medicines department and will be responsible for providing administrative support to the pharmacy homecare team to ensure that patients receive timely supplies of medication.
If successful in your application, your role within this position will be to create purchase orders for homecare medicines, confirm goods receipt by patients, process invoices for payment and maintenance of pharmacy homecare records.
You will be trained to use the pharmacy computer system for the accurate booking in and out of homecare prescriptions. You must have good computer skills, proven organisational skills and be able to demonstrate attention to detail in your work. Excellent communication skills are essential as you will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
We are looking for applicants with enthusiasm for a new challenge and a willingness to learn.
What we'll need you to bring
* Practical knowledge of office systems gained through SVQ111 or equivalent
* Experience of working in an office procurement environment
* Understanding of Standing Financial Instructions
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages
* Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
It would be great if you also have
* Experience and understanding of pharmaceutical terminology
* Ability to work under pressure
* Able to plan, prioritise and organise workloadDemonstrate customer awareness/focus
* To participate in public holiday working
* To be flexible and willing
* to contribute to the general working of the pharmacy department
