Job Description:
Windows Infrastructure Automation Engineer – Quant Trading
£100,000-160,000 plus benefits and bonus. Hybrid work environment.
Quant Capital is urgently looking for a Windows PowerShell Engineer to join our high-profile client.
This environment is similar to Google or a startup, where technology is a top priority with a substantial budget allocated towards tech. The firm is globally recognized for its attitudes and rigor. You will be surrounded by smart colleagues who are eager to learn, teach, and share knowledge.
Our client is a well-known quantitative trading firm and market maker. The team comprises some of the best minds in Windows and PowerShell Engineering.
The company operates in a mixed Windows and Linux environment across physical and virtual machines. This role is suitable for a talented Windows Engineer with a problem-solving mindset, strong PowerShell programming skills, and a focus on automation.
You will focus on platform engineering designs, maintaining the firm's operating systems, authentication systems, databases, virtualization infrastructure, core network services, messaging, and endpoints on Windows and Linux in both internal and external environments.
Your responsibilities include designing, implementing, and integrating infrastructure systems on Windows-based platforms.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Extensive experience in Windows systems automation.
* Proficiency in PowerShell (C# exposure is a plus).
* An in-depth understanding of Windows platforms and related technologies (e.g., Active Directory, Failover Clustering), with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and familiarity with tracing tools.
* Experience with Windows Server applications and management tools (e.g., Exchange, SQL, SCCM, Hyper-V, ADFS).
* Knowledge of network protocols, Linux, and information security concepts.
* Experience integrating systems across on-premises and cloud environments.
* Experience working with containers on Windows and Linux is preferred.
This role is suitable for candidates with early career responsibilities, preferably those who have worked in smaller, agile companies with ongoing change. You should be hands-on, experienced in demanding environments, and passionate about technology. In return, you will enjoy a positive culture, work-life balance, benefits, and competitive remuneration.
