We are working with our client to recruit a Shutdown Materials Controller to oversee and coordinate all aspects of materials management across multiple departments.
Job Overview
The Shutdown Materials Coordinator is the central focal point role in managing all aspects of materials across multiple departments for all shutdown activities, ensuring that the right materials are available at the right time and place to facilitate a safe and successful shutdown execution. This position oversees the entire shutdown lifecycle of materials from procurement to final receipt, including transportation, delivery, storage, consumption, and returns.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities
* Effectively track and manage materials for all work scopes, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to safety protocols for shutdowns, production outages and large projects
* Ensuring that all necessary materials, consumables and temporary equipment are available on-site when required for safe and efficient execution of the shutdown in alignment with the shutdown (PMSD) process
* Organizing transportation, storage, and handling of materials, including temporary storage solutions and waste management
* Creating load lists and liaising with relevant onshore base(s), ensuring all materials accounted for, correctly bagged and tagged, and containerized for weekly batch loading to Asset as per load list supplied
* Collaborate with the wider onshore logistics team, including shore base and marine coordinators, and the aviation team to ensure materials are prioritized and transported to the site in the most appropriate method
* Report and analyse materials KPIs, resolving material availability issues by collaborating with stakeholders including job sponsors, supply chain, logistics, and warehouse personnel
* Demonstrate commitment to effective inventory control through best practices in warehousing and CMMS systems management
* Liaising with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure everyone is aware of material requirements and schedules
* Support inventory utilization and disposal processes, identifying opportunities for optimization and cross-asset synergies
* Provide guidance and support to Offshore Material Controllers, ensuring alignment with operational and shutdown objectives
* Responsible for visibility of 3rd party rentals ensuring that they are on and off hired in the optimal period
* Support break-in requests during execution of shutdown as instructed by shutdown coordinator
* Liaise with offshore materials coordinator ensuring all materials receipted
* Managing the return or disposal of unused materials, reconciling inventory, and documenting lessons learned for future shutdowns
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support change management activities
* Maintain a firm understanding of the threat cyber-attacks environments and their potential consequences
* Demonstrate commitment to safety through language, behaviour and actions
Professional Skills and Experience
* Experience of SCM operations in the Oil & Gas Industry
* Experience with ERP and CMMS systems (specifically Maximo) and other associated SCM systems and their application and reporting capabilities in relation to Materials Management
* Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Proficient in HMRC applicable regulations
Qualifications and Certifications
* Recognised qualifications applicable or significant experience in the role (8+ years)
Other Requirements
* The role may require travelling offshore for certain business requirements
