Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs in a nurturing primary school environment. This role is ideal for someone with experience in SEN support and a passion for helping children thrive both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with specific learning, behavioural or emotional needs.
Assist with the implementation of EHCP targets and personalised learning plans.
Support the pupil's engagement in classroom activities and promote independence.
Use strategies to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
Liaise closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals.
Monitor progress and contribute to regular reviews and reports.
Ensure a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Preferable Experience
Previous experience in a 1:1 TA role or supporting children with SEN.
Knowledge of Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language needs.
Familiarity with de-escalation techniques and emotional regulation strategies.
Experience with visual aids, PECS, Makaton or Zones of Regulation.
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach, Autism Awareness).
