Overview
Come and join a forward thinking Nationally recognised Specialist Centre, providing excellent healthcare for women, babies and their families. This role supports obstetrics, maternity, neonatal and gynaecology services, with a recently established CT and MRI service as part of the Crown Street Community Diagnostic Centre, serving the region and the women and babies at Liverpool Women's Hospital (LWH).
We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible Registered Diagnostic Attendant (RDA) to join our Imaging Team; to work within the multidisciplinary team to ensure high standards of patient care and quality of examinations within the Radiology Department, under the direction and supervision of an appropriate Registered Health Care Professional. The Imaging Department provides general x-ray, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, MRI and CT services.
As well as caring on the Liverpool Women’s Crown Street site, there is a requirement to work within satellite Community sites as needed. The role will be part of a shift rota and will require some weekend daytime working.
Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service.
* Support clinical staff when carrying out a range of imaging examinations to consistently high standards, professionally and efficiently, following department procedures.
* Use initiative to maintain a safe, efficient and caring environment.
* Comply with all Trust and Department policies and procedures.
* Act as a role model to others and demonstrate Liverpool Women’s Trust values.
* Demonstrate behaviours that support an inclusive culture.
* Ensure a high standard of clinical care within the department, supporting more junior staff to do likewise by technical excellence.
* Assist patients prior to, during and after imaging examinations, and assist with preparation of examination rooms and patients as required.
* Assist with completion of patient questionnaires prior to imaging examinations/procedures and provide clear explanations of the procedure.
* Liaise with other departments regarding transport of patients and communicate any issues promptly.
* Participate in research, surveys or audits as required and in departmental quality assurance programmes and relevant audits.
* Undertake internal and external training (including IV cannulation, induction training, CPR, manual handling, infection control, COSHH) and apply these skills in practice.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Enthusiastic and flexible RDA or equivalent role in radiology/imaging.
* Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and follow department procedures.
