We are working on behalf of our client, an award-winning housebuilder who operates across North London, Hertfordshire and Essex to onboard an ambitious Finance Director.
The ideal candidate will actively contribute towards financial planning and strategic growth of the organisation as a key member of the senior management team and have experience of working within an SME or PLC development environment, coupled with a background in funding and banking relationships raising both debt and project finance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the finance function, ensuring efficient, timely, and accurate financial operations.
* Take a hands-on role in managing cash flow and overseeing funding activities.
* Utilise COINS software for effective financial and commercial management.
* Collaborate closely with the commercial team to drive revenue growth and improve profitability.
* Ensure full compliance with financial regulations and internal company policies.
* Proactively identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
* Oversee and manage the budgeting process across the division.
* Prepare and present accurate financial statements to the board and key stakeholders.
* Interpret and ensure compliance with joint venture and collaboration agreements.
* Partner with the Sales Director to forecast valuation revenues for inclusion in quarterly valuations.
* Own the division’s budget and three-year forecast, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and delivery.
* Implement and manage month-end processes, stakeholder reporting, statutory accounts preparation, and external audit reviews.
* Represent the division in the management of joint ventures and collaborative initiatives.
About You:
* Hold a relevant degree in Finance or Accounting.
* Demonstrated experience within an SME or PLC housebuilding environment.
* Possess strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Significant post-qualification experience in industry, covering accounting, financial control, and commercial finance/business partnering.
* Financial and management accounting, including leading the month-end close.
* Working effectively with external auditors.
* Delivering insightful analysis, P&L and cash flow management.
* Forecasting, planning, and influencing operational decisions through robust financial insight.
