Construction Manager

Location: Glasgow / Lothian and Borders, Strathclyde, Dumfries and Galloway, Fife, Central Belt, etc.
Salary: Up to £76,500 per year, with a strong benefits package, excellent overtime opportunities, and our pension scheme with double matching up to 10%.

Role Overview
The Construction Manager plays a key role within SPT, overseeing the Construction Management Team during all project phases: Development, Procurement, Delivery, and Closure for major projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead development, procurement, and construction delivery from concept to closure in line with CAPEX budgets.
* Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Law, CDM 2015, and Environmental Legislation as the Principal Contractor.
* Manage environmental and sustainability regulatory requirements, aligning with net-zero targets.
* Oversee commercial management to control CAPEX risks, ensuring contractual compliance.
* Manage all project regulatory outputs and stakeholder engagement during delivery.
* Supervise packages related to supply, civil, electrical, cable, and overhead lines, ensuring safety and operational standards.
* Develop and manage the onsite construction team through performance management, coaching, and mentoring.
Candidate Profile
Experience in:
* Electrical works within transmission substations.
* Underground cable construction and commissioning.
* Overhead line construction and commissioning.
* Contract management, including NEC/FIDIC conditions.
Minimum Requirements
* Relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience in construction management within the power sector.
* Excellent IT skills.
* Full UK driving license.
* Current SMSTS qualification.
