Technical Training Lead
Location: Hampshire Fullerton, Millbrook(Hybrid – approx. 3 days across sites/offices, remainder WFH)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37 per week
Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Are you an experienced wastewater operator who enjoys helping others, sharing knowledge, and improving how things are done?
We’re looking for someone who understands our sites, our processes, and the realities of operational work and wants to use that experience to support and develop colleagues across the region.
If you’ve ever coached new starters, explained a task to teammates, or taken pride in raising standards on site, you already have the foundations for success in this role.

What you’ll be doing
We are currently recruiting for a Technical Training Lead, where you’ll play a key role in building the skills and capabilities of our wastewater teams. Your work will directly support safe, consistent and compliant operations.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Delivering hands-on, practical training on sites
2. Running small group sessions and classroom training
3. Coaching and mentor Grades 1–3 operators
4. Carrying out technical assessments
5. Helping standardise ways of working and operational practice
6. Working with SMEs to create clear, simple learning materials
7. Supporting team leaders in identifying skills gaps
8. Contributing to improvement projects and knowledge‑sharing across the function
This is a varied role that keeps you connected to operational work while giving you space to influence how we train, develop and support our people.
What we’re looking for
Essential:
9. Ability to explain technical tasks clearly with your current knowledge of wastewater operational functions
10. Passion for coaching and supporting internal colleagues to develop and increase their competency to maintain our standard of operations within the business
11. Confidence in delivering classroom learning sessions in small classroom groups alongside hands- on training for onsite based colleagues
12. Ability to coach, mentor and give constructive feedback
13. Interest in improving skills, standards and ways of working
Desirable:
14. Wastewater operations experience (ideal for current operators)
15. Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards
16. Any coaching/teaching/training qualification (e.g., AET)
17. Experience supporting colleagues on the job
18. If you’re not a qualified trainer yet, don’t worry. We’ll support you.
