OVERVIEW OF JOB DESCRIPTION
Churchill Square Shopping Centre is Brighton’s main shopping complex and is in the heart of Brighton, benefitting from easy commuting from the city centre and surrounding areas, it offers discounted benefits from certain retailers. This position is for a Security Officer working an average of 40 hours per week, on a rolling rota, at £ per hour. We offer 28 days annual leave including public holidays (pro rata for part time workers)..

Churchill Square Shopping Centre Security Officers are responsible for the safety and welfare of members of the public who visit the Centre, to ensure that they have a pleasant shopping experience without fear of any incidents occurring which may affect that experience.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
You are employed as ambassadors for the site to create and maintain an environment in which all law-abiding members of the public, whether shoppers, visitors, staff, or contractors can feel safe and secure.
Great emphasis is placed on Customer Service within the role where your objective is to create a pleasant environment for all shoppers, and tenants.
Day to day tasks include:
1. Patrolling both front and back of house areas
2. Deterring and reporting of criminal behaviour.
3. H&S safety checks
4. Rotating static positions within the centre and car park.
5. Carrying out vacant unit checks
6. Refusing entry to known offenders
7. Supporting Brand Partners to effectively manage incidents of antisocial or criminal behaviour.
8. Reporting defects/spillages within the Centre.
9. Taking part in training exercises to improve knowledge of how site procedures.
10. Support service partners with related issues and procedures to reinforce the sites one team ethos.
Person Specification:
11. Competent in dealing with members of the public.
12. Level of health and safety awareness
13. Good knowledge of security industry and systems
14. Punctual.
15. Able to ensure all procedures are followed complying with legislation and company policy.
16. Maintain critical standards for professionalism, service, and quality assurance.
17. Adhere with new policies and procedures to ensure that a respectful workplace exists.
Essential
18. SIA licensed – Guarding or door supervisor badge preferred.
