Bid Writer – Construction & Built Environment Sector Permanent Role - £35,000 - £40,000 DOE Benefits Portsmouth - Hybrid Working Available Are you an experienced Bid Writer with a flair for producing compelling content that wins contracts? Do you have a background in the construction or built environment industry and enjoy translating technical knowledge into persuasive, client-focused narratives? We’re looking for a Bid Writer to join our growing team at a well-established multi-disciplinary consultancy. You’ll play a key role in supporting our business development efforts by preparing high-quality submissions across a range of sectors, including public sector and defence. ✍️ What You’ll Be Doing: Write and edit clear, engaging responses for PQQs, ITTs, framework submissions, and supporting bid documentation. Collaborate with technical experts and directors to transform project insights into winning content. Customise and refine bid library content to align with specific client requirements. Support identification of tender opportunities through online portals. Ensure submissions are completed on time, are fully compliant, and follow public sector procurement standards. Contribute to continuous improvement in bid strategy, quality, and win rate. Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices in public and private procurement. ✅ What We’re Looking For: * Minimum 2 years’ experience in a bid writing or proposals role within construction, engineering, or related sectors. * Strong grasp of public sector procurement, especially Government and Defence tendering processes. * Outstanding written communication, grammar, and copy-editing skills. * Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously to tight deadlines. * AI-literate, with an ethical and practical approach to enhancing writing workflows. * Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiar with procurement portals. * Security clearance (or ability to obtain it) required due to sensitive project work. Desired: ⭐ APMP Foundation or similar bid/proposal certification ⭐ Experience supporting multi-disciplinary bids (frameworks or long-term contracts) ⭐ Familiarity with term commissions and central/local government procurement language What’s On Offer?
