Job Title: UX Design Manager
Location: Hybrid - One day in every 2 weeks on site in North West
Salary - £61,000 - £71,000 + Package
Brief Overview:
Forsyth Barnes have partnered with a leading Equipment hire organisation. Supplying a range of tier 1 contractors and subcontractors across the UK the organisation have a significant foothold in the market. As part of their transformation initiative they are now seeking to add a permanent UX Design Manager to their team.
You will be managing a team of designers that support our product squads delivering the companies transformation strategy. This will cover all aspects of business, from logistics and fulfilment optimisation experiences supporting our drivers and depots, through to our website and app and the tools other colleagues use to serve customers. You’ll be a champion for design and passionate about embedding best-practice design principles into our ways of working.
Job Details.
* Collaboratively approach the work, emphasising lean UX, design systems and design thinking principles.
* Learn, plan and prioritise yours and your teams’ areas of focus and approach in coordination with the wider team.
* Contribute to a growing team delivering end-to-end product experiences for both customers and colleagues.
* Analyse products, conduct competitor and comparator analysis, review existing journeys and features and explore ways of improving and innovating our experiences.
* Understand user mindsets, motivations, and expectations. Contribute to mapping experiences, journeys and flows, to help us unearth and prioritise pain points and opportunities.
* Work with your team to generate and prioritise ideas. Take the lead in planning and facilitating co-creation sprints and workshops.
* Develop loose ideas into concepts. Work with your design team and squads to evolve and prioritise those concepts.
* Support the team to use a variety of testing approaches and techniques. Measure experiments. Abandon unsuccessful concepts and evolve successful ones.
* Design new components, patterns, layouts, flows and interactions which will feed back into our design system and component library.
* Embrace a growth mindset, demonstrate the courage to fail, lean into learning through close collaboration with team members to always be growing in your approach, process, and output.
* Collaborate with the team on bigger picture, end-to-end thinking, such as evolving our design system and customer and colleague understanding.
* Line manages 2-3 UX&UI designers, providing coaching, mentoring, development and team leadership.
* Demonstrate great end-to-end product design competencies across various stages of the software delivery lifecycle. You'll have experience working on multiple features and iterations, possibly across different products and in multiple industries as a product designer.
* Experience of designing accessible, inclusive user interfaces and an understanding of the challenges of designing for a diverse audience
* You will have designed both customer and colleague facing product experiences. Ecommerce experience is a plus.
* Possess a flexible, motivated, experimental and collaborative mindset. The work can be fast-paced, and you should be comfortable with ambiguity, testing and continuous discovery.
