Salary: £36,000-£44,000 per annum depending on experience

The Role
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of our Canvey Island site. You will focus on both routine preventative maintenance and responding to equipment breakdowns, keeping our machinery running efficiently. Your skills will be critical in maintaining, fabricating, fitting, and modifying plant equipment while ensuring safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and repair mechanical equipment breakdowns swiftly and effectively.
* Perform planned maintenance tasks to optimise equipment performance.
* Install and modify mechanical equipment in line with Calor specifications.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proactively report hazards.
* Maintain accurate records and complete necessary paperwork promptly.
* Be flexible in supporting shift coverage and responding to urgent maintenance needs.
What We’re Looking For
* Previous experience in a production maintenance environment.
* A recognised City & Guilds certification in an engineering discipline.
* Proficiency in welding (Arc, MIG, gas cutting), hydraulics, pneumatics, and fabricating and fitting desirable.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings with precision.
* Experience with operating lathes, mills, and drills.
* Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing maintenance needs.
* A thorough understanding of engineering standards and mechanical repairs.
* Must have the right to work and reside in the UK.
Desirable Qualifications
* NEBOSH/IOSH Safety qualification.
* COMPEX Qualification.
