Job Requirements:
Reporting to the CEO, the Resident Program Director manages the overall operations of all resident ADLs and social programs. The primary responsibility is to meet the direct care and life enrichment needs of residents and families. The RPD supervises Resident Specialists, Resident Specialists with Meds (UCP), and Housekeeping staff, and champions the Moments and Oasis Programs. The RPD works closely with the Wellness Coordinator and Community Relations Coordinator to ensure quality care, smooth move-ins, and customer satisfaction.
Resident Care Programs:
* Participate in resident assessment and care planning, collaborating with the Wellness Coordinator and Executive Director based on family interviews and ongoing evaluations.
* Develop and implement individualized service plans (ISPs) for residents in coordination with the Wellness Coordinator.
* Monitor and update ISPs to ensure resident needs are met.
* Communicate effectively with families regarding residents' needs and recommended services.
* Plan family-style dining and hydration with the Dining Services Coordinator.
* Maintain the Oasis and Moments Program Neighbourhoods, including life skill stations, program kits, and memory boxes, and train team members in their use.
* Ensure safety and environmental standards are upheld.
* Assist residents with ADLs as needed and cover shortages or emergencies.
* Establish and maintain communication with residents' families.
Department Team Management:
* Manage direct reports: Resident Specialists, RS with Meds, RPNs, and Team Leads.
* Coordinate with leadership to communicate residents' needs.
* Create department schedules and oversee payroll.
* Ensure staffing levels meet the variable staffing guide and competency requirements.
* Recruit, assign duties, monitor performance, and oversee discipline processes.
* Provide orientation and ongoing training for new wellness team members.
Requirements:
* 3-5 years management experience in a residential care setting.
* Proficient in Word and Outlook.
* Up-to-date Standard First Aid and CPR certifications.
* Vulnerable sector clearance and clean police record.
* Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
* Covid vaccination (minimum 2 doses) and ability to work through pandemics/outbreaks.
* Ability to work with animals; allergies cannot be accommodated.
* Valid driver’s license and access to personal vehicle.
* Physical ability to walk, sit, stand, squat, and carry (3-15 kg).
* Ability to perform various movements and dexterities required for the role.
* Strong communication skills and memory capabilities.
Job Qualifications:

* Valid Ontario driver’s license.
* Licensed and in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
* Availability to work every second weekend and one evening or night shift every 30 days.
