From 1 December 2025 the pay range for this role will be £33,699 - £39,152 Band 8 (pro rata for part time colleagues). To promote fairness and consistency, all new starters will begin at the bottom of the pay band. You can also find out more about the new terms and conditions that we are introducing on our careers site on, 'More than just a job' brochure Role Purpose In Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) area there are many agencies and organisations involved in safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing local children and young people. The role of the BCP Safeguarding Children Partnership is to ensure that agencies work together in carrying out their safeguarding children duties and provide support through training, policies, procedures and guidance. In this role you will play a critical to how the partnership achieves this. The post offers a hybrid method of working; there will be the flexibility to work from home with the expectation of attending the Civic Centre in Bournemouth on a regular basis. Main Responsibilities You will be part of a small and busy team, you’ll be liaising with a range of partners and leading a number of varied workstreams. Your work will include Co-ordinating and reporting on the BCP Safeguarding Children Partnership quality assurance projects and plans, including multi-agency audits and policy development Co-ordinating and planning the BCP Safeguarding Children Partnership communication and engagement plan – includes maintaining website and newsletter content, and engaging with professionals, children and families to secure their feedback and insights Supporting safeguarding reviews including Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews (CSPRs) and ensuring that the learning is produced and disseminated in a variety of ways Being the lead point of contact for dissemination of learning and promotion of training within the BCP Safeguarding Children Partnership area Support the planning and coordination of regular BCP Safeguarding Children Partnership multi-agency meetings and direct support to project specific working groups Developing and maintaining relationships with a range of partners, including senior representatives You will provide professional advice to a range of professionals and agencies on safeguarding duties, processes, policies and the role of the BCP SCP The Ideal Candidate You will be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team You will have a high level of resilience, have attention to detail and the ability to work calmly and methodically under pressure You will excellent written and verbal communication skills You will have confidence to present to a range of audiences, in-person and virtually You will have excellent analytical skills You will have good IT skills You will understand safeguarding principles and practice, together with the ability to research and understand detailed information on new areas of work. You will have a NVQ 4, HND or diploma or equivalent experience relevant to the role e.g., social work, early help, youth services, adult services, education, health, police services etc and ideally experience in working in safeguarding and in multi-agency arrangements.
