We are partnered with a great UK renewables company to facilitate their growth - a long-term client of ours who keeps growing.
We are a fast-growing renewable energy company delivering utility-scale clean energy infrastructure. They design, develop, build, operate and maintain utility-scale solar farms, together with the energy storage facilities needed to keep the grid balanced. Due to continued expansion, we're looking for a Cost Engineer to join our EPC team. This role will support the full lifecycle of high-voltage and renewable energy projects - from early-stage estimation through to construction, commissioning, and performance evaluation.
You'll be responsible for ensuring accurate project costings, implementing robust cost controls, managing budget performance, and supporting risk management activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Cost Estimation: Develop detailed estimates across concept, design, procurement, and build phases
* Budgeting & Cost Control: Build and manage project budgets, track variances, and recommend corrective actions
* Forecasting: Produce and update short- and long-term cost forecasts aligned with schedule and scope changes
* Risk Management: Contribute to risk assessments, maintain risk registers, and support mitigation strategies
* Data & Reporting: Analyse cost data, produce EVM reports, dashboards, and post-project financial reviews
What You'll Bring:
* 5+ years of cost engineering or project controls experience in renewables, electrical infrastructure, or EPC environments
* Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, cost modelling, and contract/bid analysis
* Advanced Excel skills; knowledge of Power BI, MS Project, and EVM methodologies preferred
* Experience integrating cost and schedule data (WBS, cost/resource tracking)
* Strong analytical mindset and ability to communicate financial insights to technical/non-technical stakeholders
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance or similar; CCP/PMP a plus
