Overview
Consultant Psychiatrist in GA - Inpatients Sycamore Ward. This is a full-time Inpatient Consultant role on Willow Ward at the Derwent Unit, Chesterfield, with Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This is a 10 PA position. Willow Ward is an 18-bed female ward for adults of working age and is part of a new 54-bed Acute Unit under the MRFD programme.
You will join a multidisciplinary team and act as a clinical leader, shaping and developing the service. There are opportunities to grow and enhance clinical skills and to develop evidence-based innovative practices. You will be supported by junior medical staff, with responsibility for delegation, organisation and supervision of the medical team.
Responsibilities
* Provide consultant and Approved Clinician responsibility for all patients on Willow Ward.
* Lead the treatment of patients in your care, including prompt and comprehensive admission assessments, diagnosis and treatment decisions, and regular patient reviews.
* Ensure proper administration of the Mental Health Act in relation to detained patients, prepare tribunal reports, and attend tribunals as required.
* Supervise and delegate tasks to junior medical staff within the team.
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to maintain high standards of care and service development.
Qualifications and Experience
* General Adult Psychiatrist with eligibility for Consultant/Approved Clinician status.
* Experience in inpatient psychiatric care within a multidisciplinary team is desirable.
* Strong leadership, clinical governance, and decision-making skills.
