The role
This Green Space Project Officer (Green Infrastructure Lead) will serve as a catalyst for a borough-wide highways greening initiative, aligning with the council's strategic priorities and increasing community interest in making Camden greener. While green infrastructure alone cannot resolve all climate challenges, it can address local flood risk, promote biodiversity, cool streets and buildings, and foster a better connection between people and nature.
The post manages the delivery of green space within the Camden Transport programme, adopting a mission-oriented approach. A key part of this work is implementing findings from the Highways Greening Accelerator project.
The role will also deliver a portfolio of highways greening projects from inception to completion, working closely with Transport and Highways colleagues.
