We have an exciting opportunity for a Reliability Engineer to be based at the London Gateway Port in Stanford le Hope - Essex. In this role you will ensure that our equipment operates under an optimal planned maintenance regime that aligns with Asset Management, Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM), and DP World Reliability best practices. You will play a key role in the implementation and forward planning of the DP World Reliability Program, driving continuous improvement within Engineering and Operations
About the Role:
1. Supports the execution of the DP World Reliability Program, ensuring alignment with global standards and strategic goals.
2. Supports and instils a strong reliability culture across the organization.
3. Collaborate with internal reliability specialists, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of the Global Reliability Program and the 5-year strategic plan.
4. Compile and report monthly reliability progress reports globally.
5. Develop and implement reliability strategies to achieve 100% Predictive Maintenance (PdM) coverage for Quay Cranes (QCs), Automated Stacking Cranes (ASCs), Shuttles and other mobile equipment.
6. Lead initiatives to improve Mean Moves Between Failures (MMBF).
7. Oversee various projects related to reliability initiatives planning from idea to execution, including obtaining approval.
8. Regularly review of all planned maintenance tasks to ensure:
9. Clear, precise task instructions with consistent standards.
10. Well-defined acceptance and discard criteria in line with OEM recommendations.
11. Identification and implementation of condition monitoring techniques.
12. Supports a Centre of Excellence for asset condition monitoring techniques and predictive maintenance.
13. Ensure that the Engineering Manager’s defined number of technicians are trained and maintain competency in various condition monitoring techniques.
14. Provide hands-on assistance where advanced knowledge and competency in monitoring techniques are required beyond the technicians’ capabilities.
15. Specify work programs and scopes for third-party vendors when internal skills and knowledge are insufficient.
16. Communicates global improvement initiatives and facilitates best practice knowledge sharing across the organization.
17. Supports LEAN methodology within the Business Unit (BU).
18. Support and lead in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and incident investigation activities
Your Key Skills:
19. Successful completion of a recognized Engineering Apprenticeship in a relevant trade course, such as NVQ Level 3, HNC.
20. Extensive experience in a technical (MECH/ELEC) biased maintenance role with a minimum of a LEVEL 3 NQF qualification (NVQ/City and Guilds etc)
21. VCAT-1 is essential with wider qualifications UCAT-1 being desirable
22. Experience with analysis and reporting of reliability measurements presenting information to wider audiences using Excel/PowerPoint
23. Excellent communication skills, able to explain highly technical information to non technical stakeholders/audiences
24. Certified qualifications in Asset Condition Monitoring Techniques - preferred.
25. Knowledge of condition monitoring techniques, including Oil Analysis, Infrared Thermography, Machinery Lubrication, Vibration Measurement, and Motor Current Analysis.
26. Heavy industry maintenance experience, particularly in container handling equipment in a similar environment.
