Technical Sales Manager – Utilities Sector

We’re looking for a Technical Sales Manager to manage and drive growth of steel door solutions into the UK utilities sector.
This is a senior, hands-on role combining technical expertise, relationship-led selling, and strategic business development across power, water, gas and telecoms projects.
The Role
You’ll own the full sales cycle from identifying opportunities through to tender submission and contract negotiation acting as a trusted technical partner to utilities clients, contractors and consultants.
Key responsibilities include:
* Winning new business and developing existing utility-sector accounts
* Delivering technical advice on steel door specifications, compliance and installation
* Managing enquiries, quotations, tenders and bespoke project proposals
* Building strong relationships with decision-makers and technical stakeholders
* Working closely with engineering, estimating and production teams
* Monitoring market trends, competitors and customer needs
* Championing quality, compliance, safety and industry standards
About You
You combine commercial drive with technical credibility and are comfortable operating in long, complex sales cycles.
You’ll bring:
* Proven technical sales experience within construction, manufacturing or industrial sectors
* Understanding of specifications and compliance standards
* Experience selling into utilities or infrastructure projects
* Ability to translate technical detail into commercial value
* Confident stakeholder engagement from site level to senior decision-makers
* A structured, professional and customer-focused approach
* Experience in power, water, nuclear or security/fire-rated products.
