Environmental Manager (Ground Engineering Works Sizewell C)
Main Duties:
1. Ensure compliance with legal environmental regulations and project-related standards for activities performed.
2. Prepare environmental risk assessments and identify/implement mitigation measures.
3. Develop project-specific documentation such as CEMPs and management plans for water, nuisance, and pollution control.
4. Apply for environmental permits and liaise with regulatory bodies.
5. Monitor environmental performance on-site and identify areas for improvement.
6. Support site teams in implementing control measures for air, noise, water, waste, and ecology.
7. Conduct site visits, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance with legislation and standards.
8. Lead or support investigations into environmental incidents and share lessons learned.
9. Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to promote environmental standards.
10. Deliver training and support awareness campaigns.
11. Contribute to environmental materials, alerts, and regulatory updates.
12. Track and analyze new regulations, providing guidance to Project Teams.
13. Perform data analysis (causes & effects).
14. Communicate good practices and improvements in HSQE Management Meetings.
15. Review environmental reviews, assessments, and management plans, providing guidance for updates.
16. Conduct periodic checks to ensure environmental management effectiveness on-site.
17. Guide Project Teams on accurate data collection and reporting of consumption.
18. Manage and investigate environmental incidents, liaising with the Client as needed.
19. Report monthly data as per Client requirements.
Qualifications/Experience:
1. Bachelor's degree in environmental discipline (desirable).
2. IEMA associate member.
3. Experience as an environmental advisor, preferably in construction.
4. Good IT skills.
5. Proven teamwork skills.
6. Strong project management skills.
7. Initiative and solution-oriented mindset.
8. Ability to work independently.
