About the Role
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants and PRU Support Staff to work in specialist provisions and Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) across Swansea and Carmarthenshire.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and behavioural challenges.
You will play a vital role in helping pupils re-engage with education, build resilience, and achieve positive outcomes within supportive and structured learning environments.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN/ALN and SEMH needs
* Support learners with Autism (ASD), ADHD, learning difficulties and behavioural needs
* Deliver targeted interventions under teacher guidance
* Implement behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
* Promote emotional regulation and social skills development
* Assist with lesson preparation and differentiated resources
* Monitor, record and report pupil progress
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs and pastoral teams

Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
* ✅ Enhanced Child-Only DBS registered on the Update Service
* ✅ EWC (Education Workforce Council) Registration
* ✅ Up-to-date Safeguarding Training
* Previous experience working with children or young people
* Strong behaviour management skills
* A calm, patient and resilient approach
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing

Desirable (Not Essential)
* Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching & Learning (CACHE/NCFE or equivalent)
* Experience in PRU, alternative provision, care or youth work settings
* Team Teach or similar behaviour management training
* Trauma-informed practice knowledge
