Purpose of the role
As a Project Manager, you will take ownership of assigned projects under the guidance of the Turbo Services Manager, ensuring that deliverables are met on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
This role also includes line management responsibility for the Technical Field Authorities, supporting their development, performance, and engagement.
You will play a vital role in supporting tenders, managing commercial aspects, and building strong customer and supplier relationships that drive long-term business success.
Your main tasks and responsibilities
Manage all assigned project deliverables including hardware, financials, quality documentation, dispute resolution, and customer satisfaction.
Ensure sales teams are supported with timely and professional tender preparation.
Evaluate customer requirements to align with service, product, and pricing capabilities.
Ensure tenders meet company commercial guidelines and receive appropriate sign-off.
Lead project launches, kick-off meetings, and handovers with clear documentation.
Work with procurement and operations to align timelines for refurbished and purchased parts.
Build and maintain strong customer and supplier relationships to reduce risk and maximise opportunities.
Monitor and manage project finances, invoicing, and profitability.
Ensure timely close-out of projects with all documentation completed.
Represent Sulzer at client meetings, providing proactive updates on job status and requirements.
Provide line management for the Technical Field Authorities, supporting their development, performance, and engagement.
To succeed in this role, you will need
HND in Engineering or Business discipline, or relevant experience in a related industry (preferably Steam Turbine).
Strong track record in managing complex projects.
Proven experience in contract negotiation within a commercial environment.
Supplier and customer management expertise.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP (or other ERP systems).
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
Ability to act independently with strong organisational and time management skills.
Commercial awareness and customer focus, with attention to detail.
Flexibility and cultural awareness to adapt in a global organisation.
