Urgent Care GP Doctor - Temporary Contract (York) Recruiter: Service Care Solutions
Location: York, Yorkshire
Pay Rate: £80/hour (Ltd) (PAYE equivalent available upon request)
Contract Type: Locum – 6 to 12 months
Shifts: Flexible – Block booking & ad hoc available
Schedule: Monday to Sunday shifts available
Responsibilities
* Conduct patient consultations, including physical exams and history taking
* Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic medical conditions
* Prescribe medications and manage repeat prescriptions
* Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests
* Refer patients to secondary care or specialist services when needed
* Promote preventative care and provide health education
* Manage long‑term conditions such as diabetes, asthma, and hypertension
* Maintain accurate patient records using EMIS or SystmOne (depending on the surgery)
Requirements
* Fully qualified GP with CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training)
* GMC registration
* Experience in primary care settings
* Ability to work independently and within a team
* Strong communication and clinical decision‑making skills
