Technical Consultant - Digital Technologies (PEACEPLUS SVNP)
The College is seeking applications for a Technical Consultant in Digital Technologies as part of the PEACEPLUS Smart Villages Network Project, to be based at our Strand Road campus.The Technical Consultant will provide strategic and hands-on support in new digital technologies to a network of 12 innovation hubs, which are at various stages of development, some already established and active, others currently being set up. These hubs serve as community anchors to drive digital adoption, support local businesses, and foster innovation-led growth across the region.The consultant will play a vital role in helping each hub assess and adopt new technologies, advising procurement, and delivering training and workshops tailored to local and regional needs. They will collaborate closely with hub coordinators, the NWRC innovation team, and external partners to ensure a consistent, effective, and future-focused approach.The Smart Village Network Project (SVNP) is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).For full list of responsibilities, essential & desirable skills, please see Job Description & Personnel Specification on employer's website by following the Apply Direct button.
Responsibilities
* Assess the specific needs of each hub based on its current stage of development.
* Visit each of 12 hubs on average once a month, acting as an onsite point of contact for the hub on these days. (Travel costs outside of Strand Road campus will be reimbursed monthly.)
* Design and deliver high level - beginner friendly thematic workshops at each hub, to introduce participants to new digital technologies.
* Serve as a key point of contact between each hub and the NWRC innovation team.
* Document hub-specific progress, challenges, and success stories.
* Ensure full contractual compliance and adherence to funding terms and conditions and to liaise with Finance to ensure that all work undertaken is audit compliant.
Skills and Qualifications
* Have at least a Level 5 qualification in the area of Computing, Engineering, or Design.
* Have at least 1 years employment experience working in an appropriate technology field to support digital transformation.
* Have a current driving licence and access to a car(Applicants with a disability who have been prevented from obtaining a driving license due to their disability (as defined by the DDA 1995) are eligible to apply).
* Have experience working with stakeholders to develop roadmaps and action plans.
* Have experience with a wide array of appropriate technology fields.
* Have experience delivering training or workshops.
