Role
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking two highly motivated Business Intelligence Analysts to join our Workforce Planning & Information team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting the management of a workforce of over 44,000 staff. You will design and deliver innovative Business Intelligence (BI) solutions that provide critical insight to inform decision‑making across the organisation. Working closely with stakeholders, you will gather and translate requirements into impactful dashboards, reports and data solutions. Your work will support a wide range of partners, including NHSGGC services, Health and Social Care Partnerships, National Services Scotland and the Scottish Government.
About the Team
The Workforce Planning & Information function provides essential data, systems and insight to support strategic workforce planning and service delivery. The team works collaboratively with clinical services, finance and strategic planners to enable evidence‑based decision‑making and service redesign.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver high‑quality BI solutions, including dashboards, reports and data extracts.
* Engage with stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
* Support local and national reporting requirements through accurate and timely data provision.
* Lead and contribute to complex projects across multiple services.
* Promote and implement automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.
* Maintain and improve data quality, ensuring outputs are robust, reliable and meaningful.
* Provide specialist advice on workforce information, reporting methodologies and data visualisation.
* Support the ongoing development and maintenance of BI infrastructure.
* Ensure compliance with data protection and information governance standards.
* Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and recommend improvements where appropriate.
Systems & Tools
* SQL Server, data warehouses and APIs.
* Microsoft Power BI, Power Automate and Fabric (OneLake).
* MicroStrategy and Microsoft 365.
* Workforce systems such as eEES, Job Train, SSTS, Payroll (SSPS) and Turas.
Qualifications
* Educated to degree level in a numerate discipline, or equivalent experience.
* Proven experience in a Business Intelligence or data analysis role.
* Strong SQL skills and experience developing dashboards and reports.
* Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, MicroStrategy or similar.
* Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
* Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
* Experience in automating data processes and improving data workflows.
* A proactive and innovative approach to delivering data solutions.
