Position Overview: As a Specialty Doctor in Adult Psychiatry, you will play a crucial role in delivering expert psychiatric assessment, treatment, and support to adults experiencing a range of mental health disorders. You will work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to promote recovery, well-being, and independence among adult service users.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments of adults presenting with various mental health conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and personality disorders.
2. Formulate and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, evidence-based practice, and person-centered principles.
3. Provide psychiatric interventions, including medication management, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention, to address the mental health needs of adult service users.
4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, nurses, social workers, and occupational therapists, to ensure integrated and holistic care for adult patients.
5. Participate in multidisciplinary care planning, risk assessment, and safeguarding measures to support the well-being and safety of adult service users.
Qualifications:
1. Medical degree and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
2. Completion of core training in psychiatry and relevant experience in adult psychiatry.
3. Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent professional body.
4. Excellent clinical skills in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental health disorders in adults.
5. Strong communication, interpersonal, and team-working abilities.
6. Commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to adult service users.
