Description
* Manage the day-to-day financial operations and lead a small transactional team
* Own month-end and period-end processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
* Prepare annual budgets, rolling forecasts, cash flow projections, and variance analysis
* Provide insight and scenario modelling to support strategic decision-making
* Be the key point of contact for internal and external audits
* Oversee compliance with VAT, HMRC, and corporate governance requirements
* Manage IFRS16 reporting and stock/capex tracking
* Mentor and develop finance team members through appraisals and ongoing support
Profile
A successful Senior Accountant should have:
* A professional qualification in finance or accounting.
* Excellent knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes.
* Proven experience in a similar finance role within the transport & distribution industry.
* Strong leadership skills with a dedicated approach to mentoring a team.
* Excellent numeracy skills with an analytical mind.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial data effectively.
