Position summary: Monday – Thursday 09.00 – 17.00, Friday 09.00 – 16.30
Catalent Pharma Solutions is seeking a driven, forward‑thinking Senior Accountant to join the Finance team at our Bathgate Clinical Supply Services site. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part‑qualified accountant who thrives in a fast‑paced, multinational environment—ideally with exposure to US‑headquartered organisations—and enjoys tackling challenges with a solutions‑focused mindset.
The Role
* Prepare, analyse, and review all transactions impacting the Site P&L, including month‑end accruals and prepayments
* Complete Balance Sheet reconciliations
* Manage manufacturing accounting, including Work‑In‑Progress (WIP) and costing
* Produce management reporting and budget comparisons, including sales analysis, departmental base cost, and headcount reporting
* Oversee and report on Accounts Payable
* Perform bank reconciliations
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual corporate reporting packages in line with US headquarters requirements
* Partner with the SSC on AP preparation
* Support internal and external audit activities
* Report on functional spend and departmental expenditure
* Provide cover for team members during peak periods or holidays (e.g., cost rolls)
* Contribute to ad hoc projects as needed
The Candidate
* Part‑qualified or qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent), or qualified by experience
* Experience in costing and management accounting, ideally within manufacturing, FMCG, or pharmaceutical environments
* Strong understanding of UK VAT legislation
* Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g., JDE) is an advantage
* Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines
