An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the School Organisation Planning (SOP) Team within Education.
The School Organisation Programme Team within the Education Directorate is responsible for the effective planning of school places in Cardiff, ensuring the delivery of school places through building adaptations, extensions, and new school developments. It manages changes in school organization, the establishment of new schools, and oversees large capital budgets related to asset renewal projects, accessibility, and health and safety for staff, users, and pupils. All work aims to improve teaching and learning, adapting to curriculum and technological changes for better learning opportunities.
About The Job
This is a key administrative role responsible for providing financial and administrative support to the School Organisation Programme.
The post holder will perform various financial and administrative tasks, support management in grant and financial query management, and monitor Education budgets for capital projects.
Responsibilities include processing invoices and financial orders, liaising with providers on invoice queries, and supporting the central Education business support team with invoice processing. The role reports to an Asset Commissioning Lead who will support the post holder.
What We Are Looking For From You
* Experience with financial systems and procedures, with the ability to analyze information and support process improvements.
* Experience working with others to gather information, compile reports for senior management, and escalate issues when necessary.
* Effective communication and organizational skills, with a commitment to customer service.
* Excellent IT skills for report production and system interrogation.
