This is a 6 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 3, 2025 with possible extension and/or permanency

Derby District High School (DHS) is a supportive and collaborative environment staffed by a dynamic team comprising of experienced and graduate teachers. Derby DHS is located in Derby which is situated at the southern end of King Sound in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Derby is 220 km east of Broome by road and is 2463 km north of Perth. It was the first town settled in the Kimberley. Derby is well supported with a range of government infrastructures. Its location near the King Sound and a number of rivers provides for many boating and fishing recreational activities - but not swimming!

The Role

As a School Officer, you will be the first point of contact for our school and will be responsible for completing administrative duties including greeting all visitors, answering the telephone, and responding to routine enquiries and requests for information. You should ideally have a friendly, positive, and caring attitude and possess the qualities to promote excellence within our school and to interact with parents and the wider community.

The successful applicant should ideally possess the ability to prioritise tasks and assist others whilst liaising with a range of visitors, students, and staff. It would be highly desirable for you to have a good working knowledge of Student Information System (SIS), RM Billing, RM Finance, Human Resources Management Information System (HRMIS) and Compass.

You should ideally have strong organisational skills, the flexibility to move between tasks and the ability to effectively deliver outcomes while working to deadlines in a complex and fast paced environment.
