Job Description
This role is a fantastic opportunity for a Health & Safety or SHE Manager to join our fast growing business.
In this role you will be responsible for managing the health and safety function across multiple sites, across UK and Ireland within the organisation, as well as being ensuring our compliance across our overseas locations.
The role involves the development and implementation of a comprehensive health and safety strategy that aligns with business objectives, compliance with all applicable legislation, and industry best practices.
We are looking for a proactive, personable Health & Safety or SHE Manager to join us at our head office site in Crewe.
Key Responsibilities
* Multi-site health and safety management:
o Lead the health and safety function across all company sites (Industrial and Offices), to ensure uniformity and adherence to policies and procedures, sites include offices, vehicle repair shops, warehouses and production facilities.
o Maintain site-specific health and safety plans, while maintaining overall alignment with company-wide strategies.
o Act as the main point of contact for site-level safety representatives, ensuring that safety objectives are met.
o Review the investigation of workplace incidents and accidents, ensuring thorough documentation, root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
* Facilities Management:
o Work with Facilities administration team to report on H&S and compliance data ensuring all documentation is up to date for audit purposes.
o Provide reactive cover for our National Facilities Managers, when required.
* Compliance with Health and Safety Legislation:
o Ensure full compliance with all local and national, health and safety laws.
o Monitor legal and regulatory changes, assess their impact on the organisation, and update policies and procedures accordingly.
o Ensure that all necessary certifications, licenses, and documentation are current and compliant with statutory requirements.
* Business engagement:
o Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management and site managers
o Present regular updates to stakeholders, outlining the status of health and safety initiatives, compliance, and performance against strategic objectives.
* Training and Development:
o Maintain, evaluate and continuously improve health and safety training programs for employees at all levels, ensuring that staff are well-informed about their roles and responsibilities.
Qualifications
* Certifications: Relevant UK accredited H&S qualification (such as IOSH) or working towards.
* Skills: Knowledge of relevant UK health and safety regulations.
* Facilities Management: Understanding of facilities management hard services.
Key Competencies
* Stakeholder Management: Excellent interpersonal skills for managing relationships with stakeholders and shareholders.
* Problem-solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address safety issues and drive improvements.
* Conducting and writing risk assessments and safe systems of works.
Relevant experience in health and safety management, experience within vehicle maintenance/fleet safety/workshop management would be an advantage.
Additional Information
Travel across UK and Ireland will be required. (On average once per month).
