Job Description Hire Desk Controller / Plant Hire Coordinator Location: Waltham Abbey Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday Company Overview: Our client is a well-established plant and tool hire company serving a diverse customer base across the construction and industrial sectors. We pride ourselves on providing reliable equipment, outstanding service, and expert advice to our clients. As we continue to grow, we’re looking to add a dedicated Hire Desk Controller to our team. Key Responsibilities: Handle inbound hire enquiries via phone and email, logging all information accurately into the Syrinx system Provide customers with timely updates on orders and equipment availability Offer clear instructions and guidance to clients on the safe and proper use of plant and tool equipment Schedule and monitor the delivery and collection of hired equipment Provide technical support and product knowledge to help customers choose the right tools or machinery for their needs Assist in the maintenance and servicing of plant tools and equipment to ensure safety and operational readiness Work closely with drivers, engineers, and other departments to ensure efficient service delivery Ensure health and safety compliance is met across all aspects of hire operations Build and maintain strong customer relationships through excellent communication and proactive service Key Requirements: Experience in a similar plant/tool hire role or fast-paced customer service environment Proficient in using the Syrinx hire management system Confident communicator with a professional phone manner Basic technical knowledge of plant and tool equipment (training can be provided) Strong organisational and time management skills A proactive, hands-on approach and a team-oriented attitude Commitment to upholding health and safety regulations Benefits: Competitive salary – £28,000 per annum On-site training and ongoing development Supportive team environment Opportunities for career progression within a growing company Company pension and holiday package
