Experienced Social Worker Location: Various / Agile Working Service Area: Adult & Children’s Services Directorate: Community & Children’s Services Contract type: Full time, Initially 3 months Salary: £31.54 UMB per hour (£23.98 PAYE) We are working on behalf of Rhondda Cynon Taf Council and are currently looking for Experienced Social Workers across their Adult and Children’s Services. We are looking for skilled, motivated and committed practitioners who are passionate about safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of vulnerable children, young people and adults. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive authority where practitioners are valued and empowered to influence service development. You will join a strong and experienced management team, with support at both strategic and operational levels, while managing a defined caseload and building effective partnerships across agencies. About the Role As an Experienced Social Worker, you will: Carry a complex caseload, undertaking high-quality assessments, interventions, care planning and reviews. Work in line with the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014, promoting wellbeing, independence and strength-based practice. Lead on safeguarding responsibilities for children and adults at risk. Prepare court reports and specialist assessments to a high professional standard. Participate in statutory processes including Child/Adult Protection Conferences, CLA Reviews and Best Interest meetings. Promote co-production, ensuring individuals and families are supported to express what matters to them. Undertake Mental Capacity Assessments in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and associated Code of Practice. Maintain accurate and timely electronic case records in accordance with policy and statutory guidance. The Experienced Social Worker Difference In addition to core social work duties, you will: Act as a professional resource to colleagues, offering guidance on complex cases. Support and mentor newly qualified social workers, students and less experienced staff. Undertake joint work on complex assessments, court proceedings and meetings. Act as a Practice Teacher, Assessor or PQ Mentor (where appropriate). Contribute to policy development and service improvement. Promote high standards of practice and quality assurance. Lead on peer support and knowledge sharing across teams. What We’re Looking For Registered Social Worker with Social Care Wales Demonstrable experience managing complex cases - 3 years post qualification Strong assessment, analytical and report-writing skills.
