SEN Teaching Assistant (Behaviour Support)

We are currently recruiting a resilient and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to work in supportive schools across Middleton, supporting pupils with additional needs and challenging behaviour. This role is ideal for someone confident in behaviour management and passionate about making a real difference.
The Role:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND, including SEMH and behavioural needs
Support children in managing behaviour and emotions using consistent strategies
Implement behaviour plans and de-escalation techniques
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support learning and progress
Help maintain a calm, structured, and safe learning environment
Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and independence
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children with SEN and challenging behaviour
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
Calm, patient, and resilient approach
Ability to build positive relationships and set clear boundaries
Good understanding of safeguarding procedures
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
