For four decades, we have proudly delivered compassionate, specialist care to the communities of North and East Yorkshire. As we expand to meet growing need, we are enhancing our core services and launching new ones — including Respite Care, Convalescent Rehabilitation, Symptom Management, and an enriched Wellbeing programme. This is a unique opportunity to join us at a pivotal moment in our history and play a key role in shaping the future of palliative care in our region. About the Role We are looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Hospice Doctor to join our friendly and experienced team. Whether you're seeking full-time, part-time or sessional work, we would love to hear from doctors who have a genuine interest in palliative and end-of-life care. You will deliver high-quality, patient-centred medical care across a variety of settings, including our Inpatient Unit, Day Services and Community. Working as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team — with support from virtual palliative care consultants — you will contribute to holistic, compassionate care for patients and those close to them. This role is ideal for doctors with at least two years postgraduate experience, who are seeking a rewarding and meaningful clinical role. Full training and ongoing consultant support will be provided. Previous experience in palliative care is welcome but not essential. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, person-centred medical care in hospice and community settings Undertake comprehensive palliative care assessments and management plans Communicate sensitively and effectively with patients, carers, and families Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to collaborative care planning Provide telephone advice to community teams, local GPs, and hospital palliative care colleagues Support safe and effective discharge planning Work independently, with access to consultant support (including virtual supervision) Engage in ongoing learning, service development and clinical governance activity Why Join Saint Catherine’s?
