0.4 Fixed Term Contract
Woodfield Academy joined the Bordesley MAT from Easter 2022. We work closely with Trinity High School, Birchensale Middle School and Holyoakes First School in a very localised MAT focusing on the development of children in Redditch. Working together as part of the three-tier system we aspire to improve the educational offer for the local community.
Woodfield Academy sits at the heart of Redditch. The buildings and grounds are extensive and we are very lucky to learn in the buildings we have. The pupils have access to all the facilities from Year 5 which make the three-tier system unique in that pupils receive specialist teaching in the foundation subjects. We are well equipped with two Science labs, a designated technology block with cooking and resistant materials equipment, a library, a gym, a main hall with staging for performances, 2 ICT suites and a full size astro-turf which is the envy of the local community.
We are looking for an enthusiastic practitioner who enjoys the buzz of teaching and enjoys a varied timetable. This is a unique role to teach across a range of subjects in both KS2 and 3. We understand that the middle school system will mean that a suitable applicant may need training in their least specialised key stage. The ability to teach English, Maths and Humanities is preferable but experience in other subjects is also advantageous. We have specialist teachers for Music, Art, Pe and DT but these may also need to be delivered depending on the responsibilities of teachers in these subjects. This really is a job for somebody to experience the full teaching spectrum and may suit a key stage specialist with a passion for teaching, or a KS2 teacher who would like to expand out into KS3.
What skills and experience we're looking for
* Minimum qualification of Qualified Teaching Status (QTS)
* Strong knowledge and understanding of STEM subjects
* Ability to create engaging lesson plans that integrate cross-curricular topics
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
What the school offers its staff
* A free health care plan from simply health making sure you are always assured that your own physical and mental health is our priority.
* A senior leadership team who will provide support to allow you to be successful within your role
* Woodfield 'wonders of the week' where staff nominate each other for the great work they are doing
* Senior leaders openly encourage career progression and share the many professional development opportunities with staff.
* A staff team who are caring and always look out for each other. The staff room is a focal point of wellbeing where strong friendships and working relationships are established.
* A social element, where celebrating together is encouraged
* A sense of belonging and that every role is valued under the #onewoodfield ethos.
If you meet the above criteria and are excited about the opportunity to contribute to our dynamic educational community at Woodfield Academy, we encourage you to apply for this position.
