Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services / Mechanical Contracting) – Hybrid (Office & Work from Home) - [Birmingham] • Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum + Car Allowance + Bonus Scheme + Hybrid
Client: My client is a well-established and highly respected mechanical contractor with a long-standing reputation for delivering excellence in the building services industry. Known for their collaborative approach and technical expertise, they specialise in large-scale commercial projects across the UK.
Responsibilities
* Lead the mechanical design process on major commercial projects
* Produce detailed design calculations, technical specifications, and drawings
* Coordinate designs with other disciplines, consultants, and subcontractors
* Attend client meetings, design workshops, and site visits as required
* Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and sustainability goals
* Support and mentor junior engineers within the design team
* Assist with value engineering, project planning, and cost control
* Liaise with project delivery teams to ensure successful implementation
Requirements
* Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical design within the building services industry
* Proven experience delivering large-scale commercial projects
* Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and industry standards
* Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD
* Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
