As a result of the retirement of the existing post holder, we are looking for an Allied Health Professional to strategically lead and professionally manage the Tayside Children and Young People AHP services. This is a fabulous and exciting opportunity for the postholder to continue to progress our transformation of AHP services as part of an integrated whole system applying a multi-agency approach.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team in the women, children and families division with senior clinical and professional managers and leaders, the post holder will demonstrate the leadership for the development of new ways of ensuring the AHP contribution creates and explores opportunities to develop roles, behaviours and ways of working to achieve consistent high standards of service for children, young people and families in all parts of the system reaching beyond NHS Tayside boundaries. Building on our implementation of Ready to Act, we will continue to transform with an increasing focus on community care including a strategic shift towards a population approach to planning including prevention, early intervention and a public health approach across Integrated Children’s Services.
We are seeking a highly visible and skilled leader, with an ability to balance the competing demands you'd expect in such a role, demonstrating expert knowledge in policy, national priorities and direction for children and young people in Scotland. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery and/or key performance areas linked to strategic professional/organisational objectives and come with proven experience of multi-agency, multidisciplinary planning and delivery. The successful candidate will be educated to Masters Level or have equivalent experiential learning and be an AHP registered with the HCPC.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
