Job Overview
An accurate, confidential and supportive administration service for patients, clinical teams, carers and internal and external agencies (e.g. Local Authority, Third Sector, CAIS) in order to provide a safe and efficient patient pathway and provide information and appropriate support to families and carers.
Main duties of the job
To provide a comprehensive, high quality medical secretarial and administrative service to the consultant, doctor, junior medical team, specialist nursing teams and other health professionals. To co‑ordinate and maintain arrangements to facilitate the patients progression along a defined pathway. To maintain the office organisation and monitor the workload related to the administration team. The post holder will ensure the delivery of a comprehensive high quality medical secretarial and administrative service to the consultant, doctor and junior medical team and specialist nursing teams, other health professionals and will give guidance and direction to the team dealing with day‑to‑day issues to oversee the smooth running of the department and provide support to the line manager.

Essential Criteria
* Qualifications and / or Knowledge
o NVQ Business Administration Level 3 or equivalent experience or City & Guilds (AMSPAR) Level 3 Diploma in Medical Administration or equivalent medical secretary experience
o ILM Level 2 Team Leader, or willingness to work towards and achieve within 2 years, or relevant equivalent experience
o RSA / OCR Level 3 or equivalent experience or qualification in typing
o ECDL or equivalent experience
o Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft office applications
o Evidence of Continuous Personal Development

o Management qualification or working towards

o Knowledge of Referral To Treatment process (RTT)
