Job Title: Project Manager – Environment (Water)
Location: Durham

What you will be doing:

An opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment business.

You will ideally be based in or around the Durham area, with flexibility to travel across multiple sites/projects in the region.

You will work on our Northumbrian Frameworks delivering schemes within the water industry on both Infra and Non-Infra projects, including clean and wastewater treatment schemes.

Reporting to the Delivery Manager and working within the Project Delivery Team, you will be responsible for managing Mechanical, Electrical and Civil installation schemes. You will manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring delivery to project KPIs, in compliance with Health & Safety regulations (including CDM), and relevant environmental legislation.

You will coordinate with departments such as design and tendering, and oversee suppliers, sub-contractors, and site teams to ensure projects meet requirements. You will have the ability to influence, build relationships, and demonstrate high ethical standards with openness and integrity.

You will also take ownership of the financial performance of each scheme, working closely with Project Engineers and the Commercial Manager, and contribute to accurate monthly financial reviews and forecasts.

As a key member of the team, you’ll collaborate with the Project Planner to develop and maintain project programmes, ensuring delivery to key milestones. You’ll support solution development from early design stages, leading in performance optimisation.

About You:

Industry applicable ONC/HNC/ or NVQ equivalent

Experience working in water and/or sewage industries essential

Strong team player with the ability to work independently

Excellent time management and organisational skills

Valid CSCS card

IOSH or CITB Day Site Safety Management (SMSTS)
