Part-Time Commercial Property Solicitor or Legal Executive
Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: Market rate (pro-rata)
Working Pattern: Part-time – 3 full days or spread flexibly across 5 days
Firm Type: Multi-office regional firm
This opportunity is with a long-established, highly respected regional law firm with a reputation for delivering practical, commercially astute advice with a warm, client-first approach. Recognised for its commitment to both individual and business clients, the firm continues to enjoy sustained organic growth across its core practice areas.
Culturally, this is a team that values integrity, personal relationships, and long-term partnerships. The firm operates with a low-ego, high-care mindset – one that fosters mentoring, collaboration, and genuine work-life balance. Its progressive attitude, inclusive working practices, and commitment to ongoing training make it a welcoming environment for experienced professionals looking for a thoughtful next step.
The Role and Experience Level
This is a part-time opportunity for a seasoned Commercial Property Solicitor or Legal Executive, ideally with 4+ PQE, to join a supportive and collaborative team. The position suits someone returning to work, balancing other commitments, or perhaps winding down from a full-time role while still maintaining stimulating, high-quality legal work.
The role blends hands-on legal work with a mentoring component, supporting the development of a junior team member while taking on a mix of interesting and varied property instructions.
Team & Culture
You’ll be joining a small but determined property sub-team – currently comprised of a capable NQ solicitor and administrative support. While the team is compact, it benefits from sitting within a wider property and litigation department, giving access to broader expertise and firm-wide support.
The successful candidate will enjoy a trusted advisory role, providing both supervision and oversight, while working autonomously on their own caseload. This is a great environment for someone who thrives in a collaborative space but enjoys a degree of independence in their working day.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a range of commercial property transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, leases, auctions, and property management matters.
* Advising on bridging finance, option agreements, and development-related documentation.
* Supervising and mentoring an NQ solicitor, providing clear, constructive guidance and training.
* Drafting and negotiating legal documentation with technical precision.
* Managing matters from initial instruction to completion.
* Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory, legal and internal standards.
* Supporting business development through networking and identifying cross-selling opportunities.
* Balancing a manageable caseload in a flexible, part-time capacity.
The Impact of the Role
This role offers a chance to make a real difference—not only to clients, but also to the growth and stability of the team. With no shortage of quality work and a steady stream of instructions, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of the practice while supporting the development of junior talent.
Working Options
* Part-time: 3 full days or spread flexibly over 5 shorter days.
* Office presence required minimum 2 days/week to support team mentoring and collaboration.
* Some hybrid working may be available depending on experience and setup.

The role is based across offices in Hertfordshire. There is some flexibility in location wither several offices to choose from.
